The egyption god cards are obviously better than the wicked gods. All you need is a spell or trap card to destroy them, while the egyption gods, well that's a different story lol :P

In real life, Obelisk is better than the winged dragon of ra by a mile. The winged dragon of ra's first effect is an all or nothing effect, pay all but 100 LP to increase RA's attack by the amount paid. The second effect: pay 1000LP will either be useless or will reduce RA's max attack by 1000 pts. Also, Obelisk is only 1/3 as vulnerable to effects as ra is because he cannot be targeted by spells or traps or effects.

Also, the wicked avatar is definitely better than the winged dragon of ra, regardless of whether its the real or anime version.

Well, in one of Shonen Jump's most recent issues, they released a version of Obelisk the Tormentor that is usable. It has the same effects that you would expect it to have (excluding the infinite ATK one from the movie).

"You must Tribute 3 monsters to Normal Summon this card (you cannot Set this card). The Normal Summon of this card cannot be negated. When this card is Normal Summoned, Spells, Traps, and Effect Monster effects cannot be activated. This card cannot be targeted by the effects of Spells, Traps, and Effect Monsters. If this card is Special Summoned, it is sent to the Graveyard during the End Phase. You can Tribute 2 monsters to destroy all monsters your opponent controls. This card cannot declare an attack the turn this effect is activated."

ATK: 4000 DEF: 4000
