Yeah, many synchros are broken. At the end of the day, this is a business, and fusions frustrated players to the extent that some started quitting. I guess synchros were a way to attract players again for more money...

The major thing we all have to realize here is that Yu-Gi-Oh, is and has always been a competitive and skillful game. Using fusion monsters took skill to create because you had to have some sort of magic or trap card that could special summon a fusion card, and on top of that you needed the monsters required in order to do it. They're effects where limited and it made the game more fun and balanced, Konami's biggest mistake was creating these Synchro monsters mainly because almost all of them are overpowered having ridiculous effects like, "Put cards into graveyard in order to put cards on the field back into owners hand.". on top of that they take no skill to summon because almost all of them can be summoned with almost ANY type of monster, even a spell or magic card. It ruins the game and the things are a abomination to the Yu-Gi-Oh series. I say if Konami wants to start making ridiculous overpowered monsters, than they might as well ruin the game some more and add The Winged Dragon Of Ra and Slifer The Sky Dragon as playable cards, since obelisk already is anyhow.

Very true. Like you said, I think synchros are revered, mainly because of how they can be used in any deck.

Synchro monsters also serve another purpose, not only do they beef up your best decks {Like I said in one of my prior posts: "Like putting Stardust Dragon in a deck of Machines"}, but they also provide a unique challenge for the player facing them. Forcing you to come up with more strategic ways to beat their nasty effects.

I still stick with my earlier opinion on Fusions being better, because very few Synchros require named cards, so unless you research every card that was ever made. Fusions give you 'new' cards you may not have known existed before. Not to mention, I don't research all the cards, so it's fun for me to try and picture which monsters have fusions and which don't.

Hi, I guess I was a little pissed about the synchro monsters. The day I picked up YGO again (not having watched the new series (5D)) I started a YGO online account and built a fairly good starter deck , (an old school since I didn't know any other way) and I just got overwhelmed by these synchro decks. I'd didn't even know synchro monsters existed, so I googled and came to this site and I just let all my rage out on the synchros. Now I've made myself a Twilight deck and the synchro decks are no longer a problem and I've accepted them and can see their great potential.

BTW I saw the first episode of 5D when it came out but I just couldn't enjoy it, like Cris said "now yugioh is about nothing more than racecars and motorbikes" just hated it. (maybe one of the reasons I hated synchros so much when I found out about them)

PS. Gotta agree with what morfowt and Sunshadow said, no one would play if no new cards were released, so they're right. I was a little narrow sighted when I first encountered the new monsters but as Sunshadow said the game needed them to keep it interesting.

Synchros are way better than fusion monsters. This is because They are so much more simple to summon. Rather than waiting for 3 blueyes white dragons to pop up to make a blue eyes ultimate dragon you could easily summon a power tool dragon cuz youd only need 1 tuner to tune other monsters so that theyd equal his level. Some synchros may require a specific monster or tuner but thats better cuz you only end up having to wait for one specific monster to pop up in your deck rather than having to wait for 2 or more specific cards.

also id recommend yo upgrade your deck gsreyrhrssr cuz not everyone out there in the world of yugioh may agree with you and put you at an disadvantage, personally i somewhat agree cuz now yugioh is about nothing more than racecars and motorbikes. Any how if you are a duelist Id recommend upgrading so you may stay on the safe side.
