Well I like the fusion monster not because its old school but because they where cool even though I think synchro are good to and essayer to summon out but with the card restrictions now a days (40-60 when before it was unlimited) its easy to summon a fusion monster especially if you stake your decks right I.E alternating the magic and monster cards one on top of other and making sure you place the correct cards together in the same way (also make sure you give it a good shuffling no cutting the cards twice and calling it done now that’s cheating)it increases the chanced of getting the cards also theirs a lot of cards that act like polymerization and can be added to the decks (as explained before) I Almont always get the cards I need with this method key word being almost (and yes I do give my cards a good shuffling) plus theirs cards like 5 headed dragon that just needs 5 random dragons no specific monster cards and with 5000atc 5000def and good effects to boot you may want it in you extra deck Though a trap hole or lightning vortex and even a dark hole renders both fusion and synchro useless... umm ramble ramble ramble bla bla bla in the end it all comes to personal preference

In my honest opinion, I feel synchro monsters are the stronger of the two types. That being said, I would like to say that I didn't like fusion in the beginning of the game because a lot of the cards weren't worth the effort to bring them out when you could bring out monsters as strong as them and that may be effecting my position on this. Plus when synchros first came out, I was the first of my friends who still played because I saw the potential they had. My deck level shot through the roof for a while. But then I noticed that it became harder and harder to keep the synchros out on the field or even get them out there to begin with. My friends had played and seen the different ways I would use my cards and think up different ways to counter them. Finally, I just added several strong cards to my deck, whereas before I only had level 4 and lower monsters that easily bring out synchro monsters, and stop synchro summoning and just used the strong monsters in my deck. After going through all of this, I agree with the many people who say synchros are over powered and broken and have made it easier to win though cheap cards, but only to a degree. Yes, it makes winning easier for the user, but does it not make the people facing these decks think outside the box? Doesn't make it harder for them, and therefore a challenge to raise too? But here I am rambling, so to get back on subject, while I do feel synchros are the better of the two because of their ability to improvice, recently fusions have start to almost became equal in my eyes because of some of the recent fusion monsters, like the fusion monsters that require synchro monsters. Their like a combination of synchros and fusions. It has the requirements some synchro monsters do with the need for a spell or trap can to bring it out, which was made so much easier with the card miracle synchro fusion, and effects similar to the the synchro it was designed after. But as a whole, there are a lot of useless fusions with little to none useless synchro monsters. But with all the cards that they come out with that help the two types, I wouldn't be surpised if fusions overshadowed synchros one day. But until that day happens, I shall support my synchros.

Hm, does anyone know how to take out fusions faster?
You see, I trying to use a "worm" reptile-type deck since the flip effect strategy intrigued me AND they tried to make fusions a bit easier to summon. In this deck, Worm Zero requires "2 or more Reptile-Type Worm monsters" to summon, so there wouldn't be any specific monsters to have out.

I wanted to summon it to its full potential which requires 6+ monsters (lol, 5 monster zones and 6 are needed to use it) to summon and do all the effects:
2+: once per turn you can select 1 reptile-type monster in your graveyard and special summon it face-down defense position
4+: you can remove from play 1 reptile-type monster from your graveyard to send 1 monster on the field to the graveyard
6+: once per turn you can draw one card

Meh, I know it would be silly to try to get six monsters to fusion summon it but if it's possible then why not try?
I tried to use future fusion so I can get all those monsters into the graveyard to special summon it, but even before the 2nd standby phase my opponent destroys future fusion or... yeah, I die because there are lots of synchro decks that can OTK my face.

Can anyone help me? T.T
It's probably odd to try to use a deck that has many weaknesses, but I like playing Yu-Gi-Oh and I want to have fun with the weird strategies they come up with...

Except DYING ALL THE TIME isn't fun :/
And sorry for the long post >.<

i think so and you also have those tuners that have the ability
to survive as long as the player want like krebons and
psychic commander and not forget x-saber passiul that doesn't have a real cost at all you can set him face down and next turn you get monsters like colosal fichter and other to strong monsters but it can be realy fun to play agains other players with synchro monsters

I can play red dragon archfiend, then summon 2 tuners and (their combined levels equaling 4) summon red nova dragon. Red nova dragon is a REAL pain in the ass to remove from the field. It has at least 5000 ATK becuase of the tuner for RDA and 2 tuners for itself, which makes it nearly impossible to destroy by battle. Also, it cannot be destroyed by any card effects, making it very difficult to deal with. PLUS, if it gets destroyed by battle, I can easily use monster reborn or call of the haunted on it. Now, how can you deal with RND? Compulsory evacuation device? Dimensional prison? Shrink (which probably won't be that effective)?
