Yugioh Legendary Six Samurai Shi EnTwo years ago, I posted an article about how the X-Sabers were the strongest archetype. Fast forward two years and they are still a top tier archetype. Number one? That award goes probably goes to Six Samurai.

Strengths

Just like X-Sabers, Six Samurai are very reliant on swarming. Swarm, swarm, swarm, attack, destroy, that is basically a Six Samurai strategy. However, what makes them extra powerful is the addition of Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En. Once per turn, during either player’s turn, Shi En can negate the activation of a spell or trap card and destroy it. A lot of the Legendary Six Samurai cards revolve around summoning Shi En because he so darn powerful. The Six Samurai have way more support than X-Sabers have had, with spell and trap cards designed to protect the Six Samurai and swarm more of them.

Weakness

The almighty swarming power of the Six Samurai is actually their biggest weak point. By taking away swarming, you reduce their powerful greatly. Cards that can do that include Thunder King Rai-Oh and Special Hurricane. Also, cards that isolate attributes also hit Six Samurai since they are Earth-oriented. Gozen Match is a great card that serves this purpose.

Six Samurai are incredibly powerful, however there have been some new archetypes coming that have the potential to dethrone it. Wind-Up monsters are a prime example.

You think? Every time I face sams on dueling network it ends up being a tough duel! They are sooo fast!

Great article. Six Samurai is one of the top decks. Their quality support makes them very difficult to defeat.
