Yugioh Sakuretsu Armor and Magical Cylinder: Powerful Traps

This whole week, there’s been a huge discussion on which trap card is superior: the monster destroying, Sakuretsu Armor, or the damage-inflicting, Magical Cylinder. Here’s my opinion: there both very powerful cards and each one works great when used in different scenarios, however I still believe Magical Cylinder is better. It is a much better late-game card than Sakuretsu; what I mean by this is that, if you’re opponent is crushing you, you are better off getting a whack at their life points than destroying one of their monsters. That’s my viewpoint, what’s yours?

New Yugioh Booster Pack: Absolute Powerforce

In a few weeks, the new Absolute Powerforce, Yugioh booster pack is being released. I think this booster pack will be even more spectacular then Stardust Overdrive because it marks the release of Majestic Red Dragon, Jack Atlas’ ace monster. Absolute Powerforce also features cards from Goodwin, Misty, Kiryu, as well as Carly. However, there two cards I am particularly excited about.

In a few weeks, the new Absolute Powerforce, Yugioh booster pack is being released. Absolute Powerforce also features cards from Goodwin, Misty, Kiryu, as well as Carly. However, there two cards I am particularly excited about.

The Sun Dragon Inti and the Moonlight Dragon Quilla will be two awesome monsters to duel with. While they are some what difficult to summon, each one has an ability that resurrects one another from the graveyard. Their other effects are awesome too. When a monster destroys Sun Dragon Inti, the attacking monster will be destroyed and the controller loses half the monster’s attack points. That means your foe will lose at least 1500 life points. When Moonlight Dragon Quilla is attacked, you gain half the attacking monster’s attack points. That too, is at least 1500 life points. These two monsters could cause havoc on the field if they were played in the same duel.

The Absolute Powerforce is really just a continuation of Stardust Overdrive. It has similar card, similar season of Yugioh 5Ds, and there aren’t cards from new characters. However, there are some benefits of buying the Absolute Powerforce booster pack instead of Stardust Overdrive.

1. You can get Sun Dragon Inti, Moonlight Dragon Quilla, and the monsters required to play them  are in the pack.

2. Majestic Red Dragon (which I think is superior to Majestic Star Dragon) is available.

3. New tuners and a new addition to Yussei’s junk fighters, Drill Warrior, is available.

So it really doesn’t matter what pack you buy. Either way you have chosen a great booster pack.

Yu-Gi-Oh Stardust Overdrive: The Strongest Yu-Gi-Oh Booster Pack?

Unlike Ancient Prophecy, Stradust Overdrive looks like a destructive booster pack, due to the fact it contains Majestic Star Dragon. Of course, one shouldn’t forget that the Earthbound Immortal, Wiraqocha Rasca is also part of the Stardust Overdrive booster pack.

Time goes so fast doesn’t it? It feels like only yesterday I wrote my post about the release of the Ancient Prophecy booster pack (read here). Now, the most recent Yugioh booster pack, Stardust Overdrive, is almost here for TCG. Realizing this, I felt Stardust Overdrive was going to be one strong pack.

Here is evidence for my claim above. Stardust Overdrive has new synchro monsters, it has the Majestic and Majestic Star Dragons, plus it contains the final Earthbound Immortals: Wiraqocha Rasca, Uru, and Ccarayhua. Also, Stardust Overdrive brings a new addition to the Synchrons with Quick Synchron. For duelists who use the Synchron Warrior monsters (for example Junk Warrior, Road Warrior, Nitro Warrior, and Turbo Warrior) Quick Synchron would be an amazing addition to your deck because he can be used as asubstitute tuner for the sychro summoning of  a Synchron Warrior.

Now, we all know that Majestic Star Dragon is a really strong card, and it looks cool too. However, people aren’t really excited about the release of Majestic Star Dragon. What they really want is to see Wiraqocha Rasca, the strongest of the Earthbound Immortals. And why wouldn’t they? Wiraqocha Rasca’s effect makes him one of the strongest monsters in Yugioh history, not in Yugioh 5Ds, but in Yugioh history. Wiraqocha Rasca cannot be an attack target. When he’s played, you can return up to three cards you control to your deck. Your foe then discards the number of cards you returned and Wiraqocha Rasca gains 1000 attack points for each card your foe discarded from their hand ! If your foe discarded three cards, Rasca has 3100 attack points! Plus, he can attack directly, so you’ll be dealing alot of damage to your opponent every turn.

With cards like Wiraqocha Rasca, Majestic Star Dragon, and Quick Synchron, Stardust Overdrive seems like a really efficient pack as well as a good buy. I am glad that 5Ds hasbalanced it’s “Turbo Duel” style of play with the authentic, original Yugioh style of play. You can tell by the cards in this booster pack.Yu-Gi-Oh-Stardust-Overdrive

Top 5 Best Yu-Gi-Oh Decks

The 5th and 4th decks of the Top 5 Yugioh Decks. These are very powerful decks, Maric Structure deck is filled with burn monsters and double damage spells and traps while the Invincible Fortress Structure Deck posses many strong defensive qualities. These reasons insured their spot on the list.

All a duelist has ever wanted is a strong deck. Whether you can get one from collecting rare cards or by creating strategies with a starter, structure, or promotional decks. So In my next three posts, I will be listing the top 5 Yugioh decks someone should buy, if they want to start a strong deck. Here they are:

5.  The Marik Structure Deck

Yu-Gi-Oh Maric

The Marik Structure Deck is one of the most powerful decks in the world due to its burn property. What Marik structure allows duelists to do is to swarm many monsters to your side of the field and inflict major damage through attacks and effects. This deck’s monsters revolve around Gatekeepers so if you already have couple of Gatekeeper monsters in your stock, this deck will be even stronger. Though Marik structure deck  doesn’t utilze many defensive traps and spells, it does have plenty of cards to destroy your opponent’s, with cards like Swarm of Locusts and Malevolent Catastrophe. This deck has all of Marik’s greats as well such as Lava Golem, Revival Jam, and Helphomer.  Though it’s only available in Japan, you can still buy it through websites such as eBay and Amazon, translated in English. Though this deck lacks defense, it is a prime example of the ultimate offensive deck.

4.  The Invincible Fortress Structure Deck

yu-gi-oh-invincible-fortress1

One of the best structure decks ever made, the Invincible Fortress became well known shortly after its release due to its large variety of defensive stats and effects. Though the this deck revolves around strengthening its main card, Exodd, Master of the Guard, there are still other strategies that are in this deck. For instance, the Megarock Dragon combo is very underestimated. Megarock Dragon’s ability is that he gains attack and defense points equal to the amount of the rock monsters you reomved from play to summon him x 700. Due to the fact that 90 percent of the monsters in this deck are rock, by using cards like Card Destruction or Dark Hole, you can remove enough rock monsters from play that Megarock Dragon is, well, invincible. Besides, the combos, the card simplicity is high in this deck. There are tons of easy-to-play cards whose effects are deadly.

The 5th and 4th top decks have been revealed. On my next post, the 4th and 3rd decks will be revealed, one of them which are probably going to be a surprise to many. Stay tuned!

The Best Buy for the Newest and Hottest Yugioh Deck

Due to the horrible economy, store prices for Yugioh cards and decks are rising! However by buying this amazing deck from the internet, you won’t have to as much money! Therefore I have given the links to sites whom have this deck for pretty low prices!

The 16th installment to the Yugioh Structure Decks came out on March 30th, 2009. Spell Master’s Command or S.M.C. for short, has been the talk of Yugioh for its rare-turned-into-common card package. S.M.C. brings a whole new strategy to Yugioh with its Spell Counter Play. In this type of dueling strategy, players try to accumilate spell counters on to specific monsters in order to activate their “inner abilities”. Blast Magician, one of the spell counter monsters, has the ability to gain a spell counter each time a spell card is activated. You can then remove the spell counters and destroy a monster with attack power equal to or less than 700 x the number of counters you removed.

Yu-Gi-Oh Endymion, the Master Magician
Yu-Gi-Oh Endymion, the Master Magician

This Yu-Gi-Oh deck has already attracted many duelists to buy due its rare cards. Many people are dying to buy this great deck  but prices for Yugioh cards have been increasing in local stores. However you can still buy this deck cheap in the internet. Here are some prices for this deck  I found from places like Amazon and eBay:

amazon: $9

eBay: $6

google products: $7

stop2shop: $11

Buying this deck through the internet is a great deal! Spellcaster’s Command deck also includes Endymion, the Master Magician. It has great stats with 2700 attack power and 1700 defense power. Plus he’s got a sweet effect: You can discard one spell card to destroy one card on the field! A great card indeed. Spellcasters Command is the deck to buy, with its great monsters and new strageties, it will help beginner duelists as well as veteran duelists to vary their cards.

Aquiring New Yugioh Cards Through Trading and Other Methods

Getting new Yugioh Cards is a must because each time you upgrade your deck in a strategic manner it usually pays off. Improve your deck off your previous mistakes too! At the end of this post I have listed some cards that can be useful to deck improvements.

Like most duelists, my first deck was a starter deck. I was so excited to have that deck and I was ready to pummel my friends in duel. But sometimes I lost duels. This post will talk how one can improve their deck to be better than their previous one and I will be using common examples I found on the internet as well as my own dueling experiances.

When I was about 10, I entered a Regional Tournament. The night before I had bought a Raviel, The Lord of Phantasms tin deck and had stuffed my deck full of strong level 5-10 monsters. Yeah I had a few level 4 and 3 monsters and some weak spells and traps but I thought I was going to win with only strong monsters. I lost all four of my matches and was elimenated from the tournament. Now what I want to share with young duelists is to balance your deck. The cards I had in my deck only had high attack, nothing. Suupose I had threw in a Negate Attack and replaced some of my high level monsters with lower level monsters that had effects relating to my deck theme. I might have won some duels.

Another common mistake people make is that they only rely on specific type of cards. My friend who I always duel against only uses fiend monsters. He never accepts strong cards from me unless their fiends. Here is the good side about this type of play: You can make deadly combos, the bad side: You’re limiting yourself to a specific type of cards and if you lose duels your not looking to change your monsters or your combos.

Both of these examples show how key it is to trade and buy cards. Go trade with your friends, people you know who have cards you like, any duelist you meet! Trading exposes you to knew cards and teaches you new strategies you’d like to use in the future. My Weaken and Destroy deck has been undefeated since 2007. Why, because I have traded and traded and exposed myself to new ideas! That is my trading is so important in dueling.

I hope all of you have learned the good that can come out of getting new Yugioh cards. You can collect cards for a special deck or one can even acquire cards just to sell them! These are some cards I would recommend you should get through trading, buying, etc:

  • Big Shield Gardna
  • Ghost Gardna
  • Rocket Warrior
  • Tornado
  • Turret Warrior

  • Dark Armed Dragon
