Top 5 Destiny Heroes in Yugioh Part 2

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

I hope you guys liked my choices for the #5 and #4 Destiny Heroes. Before I list my #3 and #2 top Destiny Heroes, I would just like to say Diamond Dude will not be there. Destiny Hero Diamond Dude has a mediocre effect, which heavily relies on luck. You can check the top card of your deck, and if that card is a normal spell card, you can activate it during your next turn. First of all, there is a low percent chance you’ll draw a spell, and an even lower chance you’ll draw a non-normal spell card. So no way will  Diamond Dude be on this list.

yu gi oh destiny hero double dude3. Destiny Hero Double Dude

Destiny Hero Double Dude is a very basic Yugioh card, however, both its effects can be helpful in several ways. Though it only has 1000 attack points, Double Dude can attack twice, so in a direct attack opportunity, it’s like having a monster with 2000 attack points on the field. You can use this ability to your advantage. You can equip an Axe of Despair or a Megamorph to double his attack points. Now, he has 2000 attack points. Not only can he attack twice, he has a big amount of attack points and if he attacks your foe directly, they can lose 4000 worth of life points. Also, of Destiny Hero Double Dude leaves two tokens behind when he gets destroyed. Though they each have 1000 attack and defense points, they are easy tributes for monsters like Destiny Hero Dreadmaster, Destiny Hero Plasma, or even Destiny Hero Dogma. Now Destiny Hero Double Dude is a great card and has won me a lot of duels.

Yu Gi Oh Destiny Hero Plasma2. Destiny Hero Plasma

Not only is he one of the greatest Destiny Heroes ever, I think Destiny Hero Plasma is one of the greatest monsters to ever be created in Yugioh! Though it may be difficult to summon, Destiny Hero Plasma reeks havoc among your foe(s). It can equip itself with one your foes monsters and gain half of the monster’s attack points! Not only could Destiny Hero Plasma take out one of your foe’s strong monster’s, it can use the monster’s strength to its own advantage! Destiny Hero Plasma can also negate the effects of your foe’s face up monsters. This can come handy when your dealing with cards like Sniper Hunter, Armityle, or even the deadly Reptilian Naga. Destiny Hero Plasma would be tremendously helpful in any deck.

Top 5 Destiny Heroes in Yugioh

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I gave a list of the top 5 Elemental Heroes in Yugioh about a month ago. That topic became pretty popular so I thought I would make a list of the top 5 Destiny Heroes in Yugioh! Hope you like the list!

Yugioh Destiny Hero Doom Lod5. Destiny Hero Doom Lord

Okay, it’s pretty weak in terms of stats, but Doom Lord has an effect that can come in pretty handy. Once per turn, for two turns, he can remove one monster from your foe’s side of the field, out of play. Even though the monster comes back in two turns, you still have to form a counterattack against it. What if you were facing a Yubel, or an Armityle? You can’t beat those monsters with battle, but you still can save yourself with Destiny  Hero Doom Lord. His effect is very effective and helpful, especially when your facing a deadly monster!

4. Destiny Hero Defender

Yugioh Destiny Hero - DefenderThis is a monster card that everyone should have in their deck, especially if you have Shield and Sword. First of all, it brings tons of defense to your side of the field. It would be very difficult for your opponent to destroy it by battle, so they can’t hope to launch a direct attack. Second, if you want to go to a more offensive approach, simply play a Shield and Sword spell, and you have a monster with 2700 attack points, just like that! Think of all the damage Destiny Hero Defender do! And, it is even better if used with Canyon, DNA Surgery, and/or Cross Counter. When your opponent attacks Defender (in set position) with, lets say, a monster with 1800 attack points, they won’t be expecting to see a monster with 2700 defense points! 2700-1800 is 900 life points. 900 multiplied by 4 is 3600! You’d be dealing your foe 3600 life points just by that combo! Destiny Hero Defender can be useful in so many ways.

Elemental Hero Deck

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

Recently, one of my readers, Dragoncommander, created a competitive Elemental Hero deck and gave a spoiler of his cards on Youtube. He wanted my advice on his Elemental Hero deck, and I gave him some. However, I want to see how some of you other guys think about his Elemental Hero deck and how he can improve it. Here’s his Elemental Hero deck list:

Now what I told him about his Elemental Hero deck was this:

“You don’t have Grand Neos, plus Grand Mole is neither an Elemental Hero or supports an Elemental Hero so just replace it with Elemental Hero Knopse. Take away Neos Alius and replace it with a trap card, preferably Hero Barrier or Hero Counterattack. Neo Alius is pretty useless, considering you don’t have a Neos fusion. Take away your Fusion Recoveries, because you already have Woodsman, and replace them with traps. Next, replace Necroid Shaman with Wild Wingman. Other than that, you just need to add up to 5 more traps. Overall though, you have strong deck. I’ll write a post about this and see what others think.”

Is there somethings you guys want to add to? Should he keep somethings in his Elemental Hero deck that I told him to take out or replace. Give Dragoncommander your opinions!

Making a Power Deck With Low Level Monsters

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Low-level Yugioh monsters are not weak. If used right, they can be deadly monsters. In fact, I created a deck compiled with low-level monsters because I knew how powerful it could be. So when my friend told me that low-level monsters “sucked”, I decided on using my low-level Yugioh monster deck to teach him a lesson. I was going to fix a “Heitmann.”

My friend had a nice deck. It consisted of fiend/dark monsters and fiend/dark supporting spells and traps. His deck revolved summoning Raviel, Lord of Phantasms and had other dangerous cards like Helphomer, Dark Jeroid, Goblin King, and Dark Necrofear. Though he had a strong deck, I won!

There were three things that helped me win. One:

  • Was the fact that I had cards like Sangan and Mystic Tomato, which helped me easily play my Relinqushed. Relinquished sucked up my friend’s Legendary Fiend, who had 3600 attack points (from effect), which allowed me to destroy my friend’s other strong monsters as well. Though he activated Torrential Tribute in his next turn in order to destroy Relinquished, Relinquished gave me a direct attack opportunity.

Reason number two:

  • My three Nimble Momongas.  My friend had brought me down to as low as 1300 life points through his  his Goblin King (mostly), who also was equipped with Junk Barrage as well as Big Bang Shot. My Nimble Momongas healed me by 3000 life points to help me stay in the duel!

And the final reason for my victory:

  • Level Limiter B, which only allowed level three or lower monsters to attack. While my whole consisted of those type of monsters, my friend’s didn’t. I was able to dominate with low-level monsters with high attack power like Frontier Wiseman and Jelly-Beans Man. Also, I had Fire Sprite, who could attack directly and gain 1000 attack points a turn, deal a lot of damage! It went great with Level Limiter B because no monster could attack Fire Sprite, and it could keep on attacking even when it reached 3100 attack points! Ultimate Baseball Kid helped me as well.

That’s why no one should make fun of low level Yugioh monsters. They can be extremely powerful if played right. If you guys want, I can email you the list of the deck I used against my friend. I hope those cards teach you a lesson.

Yugioh Abridged

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

We’ve all seen the famous Yu-Gi-Oh! series, the competitive Yu-Gi-Oh GX series, as well as the futuristic Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds series. Though all of these Yugioh sagas have great story- lines and feature amazing cards, I have to say the most entertaining and comedic Yugioh saga is Yu-gi-oh AbridgedYu-gi-oh Abridged is a parody of the original Yugioh storyline. Each Yu-gi-oh Abridged episode is cut from 30 minutes, to about 7 minutes. Though it does have some dueling in the show, Yu-gi-oh Abridged consists mostly of clips where people talk about random things in funny accents. The hilarity  of Yu-gi-oh Abridged isn’t something I can explain. You have to watch Yu-gi-oh Abridged fully understand it’s background:

Strongest Yugioh Monster Card

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

When I wrote this post last year, Yubel the Ultimate Nightmare was in my opinion, the strongest monster in Yugioh. I still think Yubel the Ultimate Nightmare is the strongest monster in Yugioh in terms of effect and efficiency, however, it isn’t the strongest in terms of stats. 0 attack and defense points? Those are the weakest stats a monster can have. So what monster is the best in terms of high attack, high defense, and has an adequate effect? What is the strongest Yugioh monster card? In some recent comments I have gotten, Armityle, the Chaos Phantom and Dragon Master Knight are supposedly the strongest Yugioh  monster cards (with the criteria above). However, I don’t agree.

Though Armityle also has 0 attack and defense points, his effect gives him 10,000 extra attack points. A lot of people would say that’s amazing, but I concur. That effect only applies in the controller’s turn. Because that is his only effect, Armityle could be easily beaten in your foe’s turn, no doubt about it. If you want to go as far as to waste the three Yugioh Sacred Beasts in order to summon Armityle, you better have an arsenal of traps to protect him. Plus, just summoning Armityle is difficult. You have to get all three Sacred Beasts on your field, which is nearly impossible given the fact that each of their summoning requirements are so hard to fulfill.

Dragon Master Knight is a much better monster than Armityle, however, he has his down side as well. While DMK has better stats as well as a better effect, it is much harder to summon. Some of you are going, “What? DMK is way easier to play. Just use Dragon’s Mirror or Future Fusion!” I wish summoning Dragon Master Knight was that simple. DMK is a fusion of a fusion. To play him, you first have to get Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, then fuse Black Luster Soldier. One fusion might be easy to pull off, but your opponent will not let you fuse a monster again. So many things can go wrong when you play a double-fusion monster, especially with DMK. If your foe destroys one Blue Eyes White Dragon, summoning DMK is going to be a nightmare. If your foe destroys your Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, it’s over. If you foe destroys Black Luster Soldier or even your Black Luster Ritual card, you can say goodbye to summoning DMK.

I think that Five Headed Dragon is the strongest Yugioh monster card statistically. It has 5000 attack and defense points, plus it has a decent effect. F.H.D cannot be destroyed in battle by any monster except a light attribute monster. If you have a Dragon deck and own the spell card, Dragon’s Mirror (a pretty easy to find card), F.H.D is very easy to summon. Easy to play, adequate effect, and  phenomenal stats, Five Headed Dragon is one of best beat-down monsters in Yugioh.

Yugioh Fusion Monsters and Synchro Monsters

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Yugioh fusion monsters are one of the most important aspects of the game in “old school” dueling. You revolve your deck around cards that can easily summon fusion monsters, then crush your opponent. Though many fusion monsters are very effective and good to you use in a duel, their popularity is slowly getting eaten up by the new brand of Yugioh synchro monsters. Personally, I think both are equally effective in a duel, but there some things that fusion monsters lack and synchro monsters have.

First of all, most synchros are easier to play than fusions. Many fusions require a fusion spell/trap, such as Polymerization. Chances of drawing fusion material monsters are low and Polymerization can be easily countered with a spell or trap. The Neos fusions, one of the most popular types of fusion monsters in Yugioh, require an Elemental Hero Neos and one (sometimes even more) Neo-Spacians. They sometimes can be even harder to play due to the need of specific monsters. Plus acquiring all the fusion material monsters on the field is even more difficult.

Now synchros on the other hand, don’t need specific monsters. Once in a while, a synchro monster might need a specific tuner (Junk, Road, Nitro Warriors, etc…) but summoning tuners isn’t a daunting task. Summoning a synchro only requires you to have a tuner and a monster(s) whose combined levels equal the level of the synchro monster. Another reason synchro monsters surpass fusions is because of their ableness to be special summoned without a synchro summon. Pretty much every new or recent fusion has the ability,” This monster cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon.” That makes it so much easier to play synchros who are in your graveyard.

It’s still a close battle. Yugioh fusions are as strong as Yugioh synchro monsters, but some of their limitations or restraints are really the only thing that can decide which Yugioh monster type is superior. I like synchro monsters, but if you guys think different, tell me why and what’s your favorite Yugioh fusion monster.

The #1 Yugioh Elemental Hero

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

I don’t think I will have any objections in this choice, the number one Yugioh Elemental Hero is… Elemental Hero Divine Neos!

yugioh-elemental-hero-divine-neos

Sure, it might not be your best monster in terms of stats, but it has one of the, if not, the best effect out of all the Elemental Heroes! To play Divine Neos, you must fuse together at least one Neos monster, a Neo spacian, and an Elemental Hero, as well as two other monsters (can only be an Evil Hero, a Destiny Hero, a Elemental Hero, a Neo Spacian, or Elemental Hero Neos). Okay, okay, it sounds hard to play doesn’t it? However, summoning Elemental Hero Divine Neos is worth it.

While Divine Neos is on the field, you can remove from your graveyard one Evil, Destiny, Elemental Heroes, a Neos monster, or a Neo Spacian monster. Elemental Hero Divine Neos gains 500 attack AND that monsters ability. That is crazy. You can remove from play one of those awesomee monsters, and Divine Neos would be amazing! You could give Divine Neos Magma Neos’s effect and it would gain 400 attack points for every card one the field, or you could give Divine Neos Destiny Hero Dogma’s effect and half your opponent’s life points the next turn! Possibilities, possiblities! This is what makes Elemental Hero Divine Neos, hands down, the strongest Elemental Hero!

Yugioh Top 5 Elemental Heroes Part 2

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

I hope you guys liked part 1 of the Top Five Elemental Heroes! Here in part two, the Elemental Heroes listed will be a stronger than the previous two in terms of strength, efficiency, and abilities.

3. Elemental Hero Magma Neos

Magma Neos has some of the highest stats of all the Elemental Heroes as well two awesome effects (if used right). Those, plus its cool image, makes him one of the greatest Elemental Heroes in Yugioh. Elemental Hero Magma Neos gains 400 attack points for every card on the field. It could easily be the strongest monster on the field with that effect! Suppose you and your foe have a monster one the field, as well as two spells/traps each, then Magma Neos would have 6200 attack points! Like many Neos fusions, Magma Neos goes back to your Extra deck during the end phase. When it does this, you can return all cards on the field to their owner’s hand. That effect, however, could prove to be fatal to your opponent if activated right. You can activate Neos Space/Instant Neos Space and equip it  to Magma Neos. Then, during your opponent’s turn you destroy your Neo Space/Instant Neos Space  to have Magma Neos go back to your Extra deck. Everyone’s cards would go back to their hands and afterwards, during your turn, your foe would be wide open for a direct attack. Pretty sweet usage of a vice!

2. Elemental Hero Storm Neos

Elemental Hero Storm Neos probably tops the list of Elemental Heroes in terms of efficiency. It can destroy all spell and trap cards on the field! That seems you can completely destroy your opponents defenses and destroy them! This effect goes great with Yubel and Yubel the Ultimate Nightmare since their only weaknesses are spells and traps. When it goes back into your Extra deck, all cards on the field are returned to the owner’s deck. You can do the combo with Neo Space/Instant Neo Space (that I listed in Magma Neos’s ability) with this Elemental Hero Storm Neos as well. Wide open attacks, eradication of spells and traps? Elemental Hero Storm Neos could obliterate your opponent fast!

Well that wraps up part 2 of the Top 5 Elemental Heroes in Yugioh! Again, if you guys have any objections, send me your top 5 Elemental Heroes as a comment!

Yugioh Top 5 Elemental Heroes Part 1

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

Top Ten/Five lists are very fun to create. With the Yugioh warrior monster craze going on, I thought that I’d create a five list of my favorite warriors — the Elemental Heroes. There are many Elemental Heroes for duelists to  collect, but which ones are the best? Which ones are strong, but easy to play? Which Elemental Heroes are the most effecient? Here is my answer to all these questions.

5. Elemental Hero Knopse

Yeah he’s a plant, but he is still an Elemental Hero. Sure he might not be the strongest Elemental Hero, but he sure is effecient, and his effect makes him even meaner ! As long as there is another Elemental Hero on the field, Knopse cannot be selected as an attack target and he can attack your foe directly! Not bad right? However, it also agains 100 atk points every time it inflicts battle damage! If you attack directly with Knopse four times, Knopse will have a decent 1000 atk and your opponent would have lost… 600+700+800+900… 3000 life points! An army (three) of this little guy would be even more dangerous!

yugioh-elemental-hero-knopse

4. Elemental Hero Plasma Vice

Youch! 2600 atk points? Dealing with Elemental Hero Plasma Vice would be tough for your opponent! If Elemental Plasma Vice battles a monster with a defense lower than his attack points, your foe loses life points equal to the difference. That could be pretty bad for your foe if Plasma Vice fights a low level monster! Also, by discarding a card from your hand, Elemental Hero Plasma Vice can destroy one monster on the field who is in attack position. F.H.G Dragon and D.M.K (they’re both definitely going to be in attack position, if not, use Block Defense) seem pretty easy to beat now don’t they? So to sum it up for people who are going “what?”, “why?”, Plasma Vice is on this list because he is:

  1. Much easier to play than other Elemental Hero fusion monsters such as the Neos fusions and Elemental Hero Tempest.
  2. Has the ability to change the course of the duel through his stats and effect (mostly).
  3. It’s pretty easy to acquire (pretty cheap too!).

elemental-hero-plasma-vice

That concludes part 1 of the Top 5 List of Elemental Heroes. If you anyone disagrees with my first two selections feel free to write what you would picked instead on the comment box.
