The Winner of the First Yugioh Blog Contest!

Monday, July 6th, 2009

I was hoping there would be more contestants but two people sent me their story about their favorite Yugioh card(s). One story was sent by Jesse and another story was sent by The Duelist. Both were fantastic stories but in the end, only one person won. I will share the stories then give the name of the winner. Also, if some of you think one story was better than the other, I’ll be willing to change my choice.

From Jesse:

I guess my favorite card would have to be Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus, i know its kind of  weird but I love that card and all crystal beasts. I used to play Yugioh around 2003-2004, and left around 2004, but I recently returned to the game and I randomly choose the Sapphire Pegasus tin.  Well when I opened the pack, the image was just captivating, I must have just stared at it for around 10 minutes, something about the card just clicked in my head. Anyways luck found me again when I opened a box of a Force of the Breaker cards and I found the same card again! I guess something about that card that calms me. I know its sounds weird, but that’s why I like that card.

From The Duelist:

My favorite Yugioh card in the whole wide world are the gladiator beasts because they are awesome and are wicked cool! I love how all of their effects help each other plus they have balanced attack points and defence points, with really good effects! I always win when I use gladiator beasts because they are like a big, huge, team when they battle. Gladiator beasts are my destiny cards, like the pharoh has a Dark Magician, I have the gladiator beasts baby!

The winner of the Rainbow Dark Dragon, the first Yugioh blog contest is… The Duelist! Sorry Jesse, your story was really good but you were being really modest with your feelings and thought they were “weird”. Plus, while The Duelist talked all about why he liked his card, you talked mainly about the looks of the card and how it helps you, but you hardly talked about why you like Sapphire Pegasus. The description of your card was much better written than The Duelist’s however, plus The Duelist had way more grammatical errors then you did so kudos for that! However today’s winner is The Duelist who will get a sneak peak at my next post and a Rainbow Dark Dragon! Congratualtions The Duelist!

Yugioh World Championships 2009: Stardust Accelerator

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

In a few weeks, Konami will be releasing what is anticipated to be the best Yugioh game ever, Yugioh World Championships 2009: Stardust Accelerator. Unlike the previous World Championship games, Stardust Accelerator also has a campaign mode based off the first season of Yugioh 5Ds. The goal of course, is to defeat Jack Atlas and race against others to become the Turbo Duel Champion. To see images go here.

I’ve talked about why I like the World Championship Series in this post, but in this post I will talk about what properties Stardust Accelerator has that will make it an ultra big game. First of all, you now have a structured way of earning money to buy your cards, campaign mode. Here you earn money through beating street punks in the Satellite then beating the pros in the Turbo Duel Championship.

Another thing I like about this game is that instead of working your way up from Slifer Red to Obelisk BLue in Yugioh World Championships 2007 and 2008, you are a satellite who is trying to become a pro. In this game you and Yussei both have to go to Domino City to take part at the Turbo Duel. That’s where the main story begins.

Of course, I cannot tell you everything I know for that will give away the story! However you can find out  on May 19th when this great game comes out!

Yugioh World Championship Series

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Between 2007 and 2008, Konami released a decent amount of Yugioh video games. They created games for all sorts of systems. Nintendo DS, XBOX, Nintendo GameCube. I’ve played most of those games and I found them very fun. Sure Yugioh card games are fun, but Yugioh video games are a whole new level of entertainment.

My favorite Yugioh video games are the World Championship series for the DS. You start out as a Slifer Red and work your way up as you win tournaments. Like most Yugioh games, you start out with a structure deck of your choice. Once you start earning yen from winning duels, you can then buy booster packs and customize a deck of your own choice. Konami put good, realistic thought in to this game.

My favorite part about Yugioh World Championship is the wifi gameplay. You can connect your Nintendo DS to your mod and play anyone around the world! The game keeps track of your record, including your wins and losses, and you can add the people you’ve dueled to your friends list and duel them again! The wifi gameplay is the most fun part in the game.

You think you have skill in Yugioh? Test it out in Yugioh Worlds Championships using your own deck! You can type in the card codes and create a deck as well! Plus the new installment of the series is coming out as well. It is Yugioh World Championship 2009: Stardust Accelerator. These are the best Yugioh games available and I recommend it to everyone.

Black Rose Dragon, the Strongest Dragon Monster

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Recently, I opened the Black Rose Dragon tin deck at my friend’s birthday party. My friend and I were shocked at how many great cards were in their. The Black Rose Dragon Tin Deck revolved around plant. I also got to see the new beast of Yugioh 5Ds, Black Rose Dragon. There were many valuable cards in that tin. If any duelists want to make a plant deck, I recommend buying this tin first. It had great combos and great cards, including Black Rose Dragon. I saw another familiar monster in the tin. It was Resurrection Demon King Ha Des. R.D.K. Ha Des was similar to the original Ha Des. They both had the same attack and defense points, plus their images looked similar too. However this Ha Des had a better effect. The original Ha Des’ ability was that if he destroyed an effect monster, that monster’s effect was negated. Demon King Ha Des’ ability was the same except it worked with zombie monsters as well.

Black Rose Dragon

Black Rose Dragon

As great as the other cards were, I was pulled away by the star of the show, Black Rose Dragon. She had a great ability. When she is summoned, she can destroy all monsters on the field. Once per, you can discard one plant monster from your graveyard to switch one of your opponent’s monster’s to attack position. The funny thing is, it will have no attack points! This would be a start to a great combo. Synchro summon Black Rose Dragon and use her effect destroying all cards on the field including herself. Then use monster reborn to bring her back and then attack attack your foe directly. Next, play Stray Lambs and end your turn. However you must set some trap card(s) that in some prevent your opponent from playing a monster. Next, on your turn, sacrifice any amount of Stray Lamb tokens and play a strong monster. Attack with Black Rose D. and your tribute summoned monster to deal a great amount of damage. My conclusion is this; Black Rose Dragon tin is one of the best tins ever. The main reason, because it revolves around a certain type of monster, allowing you to make more combos, summon stronger monsters, and easily defeat your opponent.
