In Yugioh duels, having monsters with a high attack and broken burn effects will not guarantee victory. A simple Mirror Force or Magic Cylinder can break your momentum and change the outcome of the duel instantly. Therefore, just like in basketball or football, every good deck needs a strong defense in order to protect your life points in case of an emergency. I have already talked about Yugioh trap cards and Yugioh spell cards that are a great defensive addition to your deck. In this post, I will talk about key defensive monsters that can stall the duel for you in order to set up a combo to facilitate a come-back.

I think this has been pretty obvious from the beginning. The strongest Destiny Hero in Yugioh is Destiny Hero Dreadmaster. When he is summoned, Destiny Hero Dreadmaster destroys all monsters on the field (except Destiny Heroes). So if you have a Destiny Hero deck, most likely you’ll be an exception to his effect, since most of your monsters would be Destiny Heroes. This also means he could destroy all monsters on your foe’s side of the field if they don’t have a Destiny Hero oriented deck. Destiny Hero Dreadmaster completely protects your other Destiny Heroes from battle, for he doesn’t allow any of your other Destiny Heroes to be destroyed by battle nor take battle damage. If he was special summoned from Clock Tower Prison, he can revive two of his brethren from your graveyard. Plus, Destiny Hero Dreadmaster’s attack and defense equals combined attack of all the Destiny Heroes you control! Think of how strong he could be! Dreadmaster is a MUST for any Destiny Hero deck and is a crazy strong addition to any Destiny Hero deck.
