Yu-Gi-Oh Stardust Overdrive: The Strongest Yu-Gi-Oh Booster Pack?

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Time goes so fast doesn’t it? It feels like only yesterday I wrote my post about the release of the Ancient Prophecy booster pack (read here). Now, the most recent Yugioh booster pack, Stardust Overdrive, is almost here for TCG. Unlike Ancient Prophecy, Stradust Overdrive looks like a destructive booster pack, due to the fact it contains Majestic Star Dragon. Of course, one shouldn’t forget that the Earthbound Immortal, Wiraqocha Rasca is also part of the Stardust Overdrive booster pack. Realizing this, I felt Stardust Overdrive was going to be one strong pack.

Here is evidence for my claim above. Stardust Overdrive has new synchro monsters, it has the Majestic and Majestic Star Dragons, plus it contains the final Earthbound Immortals: Wiraqocha Rasca, Uru, and Ccarayhua. Also, Stardust Overdrive brings a new addition to the Synchrons with Quick Synchron. For duelists who use the Synchron Warrior monsters (for example Junk Warrior, Road Warrior, Nitro Warrior, and Turbo Warrior) Quick Synchron would be an amazing addition to your deck because he can be used as asubstitute tuner for the sychro summoning of  a Synchron Warrior.

Now, we all know that Majestic Star Dragon is a really strong card, and it looks cool too. However, people aren’t really excited about the release of Majestic Star Dragon. What they really want is to see Wiraqocha Rasca, the strongest of the Earthbound Immortals. And why wouldn’t they? Wiraqocha Rasca’s effect makes him one of the strongest monsters in Yugioh history, not in Yugioh 5Ds, but in Yugioh history. Wiraqocha Rasca cannot be an attack target. When he’s played, you can return up to three cards you control to your deck. Your foe then discards the number of cards you returned and Wiraqocha Rasca gains 1000 attack points for each card your foe discarded from their hand ! If your foe discarded three cards, Rasca has 3100 attack points! Plus, he can attack directly, so you’ll be dealing alot of damage to your opponent every turn.

With cards like Wiraqocha Rasca, Majestic Star Dragon, and Quick Synchron, Stardust Overdrive seems like a really efficient pack as well as a good buy. I am glad that 5Ds hasbalanced it’s “Turbo Duel” style of play with the authentic, original Yugioh style of play. You can tell by the cards in this booster pack.Yu-Gi-Oh-Stardust-Overdrive

The 6 5Ds Dragons Versus the 6 Earthbound Immortals

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

Pretty much everyone knows about the 5 dragons, but what about the 6 Earthbound Gods? The Earthbound Immortals are the sworn enemies of the 6 dragons. There has been a lot of controversy and speculation about which ones are better. Uru, Piscu, Apu, Challua, Ccaryhua, and Cusillu versus the, Stardust, Red Archfiend, Black Rose, Ancient Fairy, and the Final, Dragons, who would win such  a hardcore competition?

I really do like the effects of the 5 dragons, but the 6 Earthbound Gods have the upper-hand in terms of stats. Ccapac Apu, my favorite Earthbound has 3000 attack and 2500 defense points where as compared to his opposite, Stardust Dragon, she only has a mere 2500 attack and 2000 defense points. What I don’t understand about the Earthbound Gods is why can’t there be multiple ones on the field?

The Earthbound Gods do have an advantage in size as well (if you’re excluding Crimson Dragon). There are 6 Earthbound Gods and only 5 Dragons. Even though the Dragons won the war 3000 years ago, the Dark Signers of the current day are much stronger than 3000 years ago. Another thing I like about the Earthbound Gods is that they each have burn effects, read here.

Though this a very tough decision to make but if I could have one of these cards I would choose an Earthbound God. They are tough, their effects are great, and their stats are tremendous as well. However you might argue with me! Write in your comments why the Earthbound Gods are/aren’t the better monsters between the 5 Dragons.  Here are some links to some Earthbound Gods scenes:
