Exceed Summon VS. Synchro Summon

After Yugioh 5Ds concludes in episode 154, a new Yugioh series, Zexal, will be released. Just like Yugioh GX revolved around fusion summoning (contact fusion) and Yugioh 5Ds revolved around synchro summoning, Yugioh Zexal will revolve around a new type of summoning known as exceed summon. Once Yugioh Zexal comes out, do you guys think exceed summoning will make synchro summoning obsolete? Let’s compare the two forms of summoning in order to find out.

As you all know, a synchro summon occurs when there is one tuner monster and one or more non-tuner monsters. The player can then remove those monsters and play a synchro monster whose level equals the sum of the levels of the tuner and the non-tuner(s). Then, there is also Accel Synchro summoning, which requires a synchro tuner monster to tune with a regular synchro monster and Delta Synchro summon, which requires two regular synchro monsters and one tuner synchro.

An exceed summon is similar to a synchro summon and a contact fusion in the sense that it requires no spell card to proceed. An exceed summon is performed when there are two monsters with the same level on your side of the field; you can then summon an exceed monster whose Rank (which is the same thing as level) is equivalent to the level of the two Exceed material monsters.

I personally like exceed monsters in comparison to synchro monsters, because every deck can have one. With synchro monsters, you usually have to create a centralized deck in order to bring out tuners, modify levels, etc… in order to synchro summon. In short, I think exceed monsters are merely simpler than synchro monsters. That’s my opinion, but what do you guys think?
