With the Atlantean archetype, Yugioh’s water attribute is making a comeback!
These days water monsters have become totally neglected. With the exception of the nifty Mermail archetype, there has been a significant hole in notable water-oriented archetypes. A majority of archetypes have focused on dark, light, and earth archetypes. I miss the old days where archetypes were equally represented, when you would actually see a variety of archetypes in play. However, I may not have to wait long for water archetypes to return to prominence. With the Mermail monsters already on the rise, Konami seems to be focusing another archetype as well: the Atlantean archetype. Chronomaly is an archetype that will be released for Yugioh in the upcoming Return of the Duelist booster pack. With two extremely powerful Xyz monsters, Chronomaly has the potential to cause a storm in the Yugioh world!
If you have been following Yugioh Zexal, then you have seen the epic duel between Yuma and III, who used a Chronomaly deck. Though III lost that duel, the awesomeness and destructiveness of Chronomaly monsters were on full display. Known as OOpArts in the OCG, Chronomaly is an archetype that focuses on swarming Xyz monsters. They are making their TCG debut in the upcoming booster pack Return of the Duelist. The Chronomaly archetype may not have a lot of support as of now, but they have two extremely powerful Number Xyz monsters as their base and are sure to be a threat in the near future. Continue reading “Yugioh Chronomaly Monsters – Archetype of Destruction!”
The new Samurai Warlords structure deck allows duelist to duel with a basic Six Samurai deck and build a more competitive one. It is a great buy for any fan of Six Samurai.
Six Samurai monsters are some of the strongest in the game of Yugioh. Only the X-Saber archetype can rival the offensive prowess of the Six Samurai archetype. However, like any archetype, the cost of building a strong and complete Six Samurai deck was pretty high due to the rarity of certain monsters such as Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En. However, thanks to the recent release of a structure deck, Samurai Warlords, duelists can build a basic Six Samurai deck. Add some cards, and you’re dealing with a full-fledged Six Samurai deck, ready to compete in tournaments! Continue reading “Yugioh Structure Deck: Samurai Warlords”
Photon monsters are really popular among Yugioh fans, but do they truly deserve it? Are they popular because of Kite or because they are a truly strong Yugioh archetype?
The Photon archetype has gained a quite lot of popularity throughout Yugioh. A big reason is that the monsters are used by Kite Tenjo, who is a fan favorite of Yugioh Zexal. However, is the strength of the Photon monsters deserving of praise as well? There have been duels where Photon monsters look extremely powerful, such as the first duel between Kite and Yuma. However, as I looked at the TCG list of Photon monsters, they didn’t seem to be that strong. So what is it? Are Photon monsters an archetype that deserve to be among the strongest archetypes, or are they overhyped? Continue reading “Yugioh Photon Monsters – Strong or Weak Archetype?”
Lightpulse Dragon is an incredibly powerful Yugioh Dragon monster because it is able to create efficient first turn kills.
Early February, Konami released another dragon-oriented structure deck known as Dragons Collide. It is a decent structure, though it is nothing compared to the Dragunity structure deck. However, Dragons Collide does have some powerful dragons such as Dark Armed Dragon, Darkflare Dragon, and Red Eyes Darkness Dragon. However, there is another monster that may not be as well-known as the previous three but is still really good: Lightpulsar Dragon.
Lightpulsar Dragon is a powerful dragon with a solid 2500 attack points. Plus it looks really, really cool! It looks like a mix between Stardust Dragon and Thunder End Dragon, if you look closely. Anyways, the reason I like Lightpulsar Dragon so much is because of its outrageous effect. First of all, you can special summon Lightpulsar Dragon from your hand by banishing a dark and light monster. It can be special summoned from the graveyard by discarding a dark and light monster as well. However, while these effects make playing Lightpulsar Dragon easy, it’s the third effect that makes Lightpulsar Dragon extremely powerful. Ninjas are strong Yugioh monsters and with the release of Number 12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja in the Order of Chaos, they have become even stronger.
Yugioh ninja monsters have been out for quite a while. In fact, one of the first ninja monsters, Strike Ninja, was considered so lethal that it had to be banned. One of the first Yugioh cards ever made was a ninja, Armed Ninja (he was a nuisance to duel against ‘back in the day’). A few other ninja monsters came out, but ninjas were not very popular until the release of Order of Chaos. The booster pack has released many new types of ninja monsters and has cemented ninjas as one of the more popular archetypes in Yugioh. Continue reading “Ninja Deck – Strong Yugioh Archetype”
Introducing the Yugioh Agent deck, another deck that has climbed to tier one. An agent deck utilizes a lot of fairy monsters, aided with the effect of The Sanctuary in the Sky.
A few posts ago, I talked about Dark World monsters and their tremendous power. Dark Worlds have become a tier one archetype thanks to the addition of the Grapha, Dragon of the Dark World as well as other support cards. However, as you may have heard the saying, “when there is darkness, there is light.” Introducing, the Yugioh Agent deck, another deck that has climbed to tier one. An agent deck utilizes a lot of fairy monsters, aided with the effect of The Sanctuary in the Sky. Similar to how Dark World decks revolve around Grapha, Agent decks revolve around a monster known as Master Hyperion, who is possibly the strongest fairy monster in Yugioh. Yugioh is a great game to play for entertainment, but if you have been playing it since you were a kid, couldn’t it increase your strategic ability?
Yugioh is a very entertaining and addicting trading card game. Once you get hooked to the competition and intensity of Yugioh, it’s hard to stop playing! However, while Yugioh is great time-passer, I read an article that says playing Yugioh helps your brain tremendously as well. Continue reading “The Psychology Behind Yugioh”
Lightsworn decks are thought of as high caliber decks but are they really? I think they are weak compared to other Yugioh decks because of the limitation placed on them by Judgement Dragon.
X-Sabers, Six Samurai, etc… are just a couple of very powerful Meta decks. The term ‘Meta’ refers to a group of decks that dominate play in a certain areas. Other Meta decks you have probably heard of are Blackwings, Gladiator Beasts, and Lightsworns. Now, I have dueled against several Lightsworn decks and usually defeat them. For those who don’t know, the primary goal of a Lightsworn is to mill several cards from your deck in order to summon Judgement Dragon, which requires four Lightsworn monsters in the graveyard to be summoned. However, though Judgement Dragon is strong, should it truly make Lightsworn decks rank highly among duelists? Continue reading “Yugioh Lightsworn Deck: Overrated?”
The Agent Yugioh archetype is a deck that focuses around life points and summoning Master Hyperion, the strongest fairy monster in Yugioh. In short, they are very, very strong.
