Number 61: Volcasaurus – The Strongest Xyz Monster

The Yugioh Xyz monster, Number 61: Volcasaurus is really powerful because it has a great effect and great stats. It is the strongest Xyz monster in Yugioh.

There are a lot of powerful Xyz monsters in Yugioh. I was looking at some Xyz monsters to put in my beatdown deck on Yugioh Dueling Network and I found an Xyz monster that I thought would be perfect. Number 61: Volcasaurus! Not only does its fiery artwork make it look deadly, it has great stats (2500 atk and 1000 def) as well as a powerful effect.Yugioh Zexal has really produced some subpar cards and a lot of Xyz monsters have turned out to be weak as well. However, Volcasarus is a really powerful Xyz and it is officially my favorite one! Continue reading “Number 61: Volcasaurus – The Strongest Xyz Monster”

Dark Attribute Monsters – The Strongest in Yugioh

There are a lot of attributes in Yugioh, but the strongest attribute of monsters is the Dark attribute. Dark attribute monsters include Dark Armed Dragon and archetypes like Dark World, Infernity, and Blackwing. Thus, the dark attribute is the strongest in Yugioh.

Yesterday, I received a comment  asking me what the best monster attribute in Yugioh was. Though I replied with Dark attribute monsters are the best, every type of attribute has its own characteristics. Light attribute monsters are usually fairies and they mostly have healing effects. Earth attribute monsters are the most common, water attribute monsters rely heavily on field spells, etc… However I feel that  it is easier to create startegies with dark attribute monsters. Spell Counter Explosion – My Favorite Yugioh Deck

Spell counter explosion is a very strong Yugioh deck because it uses a lot of spell cards that deal heavy damage to your opponent!

Yugioh Endymion the Master MagicianAfter I started playing Yugioh Dueling Network, I’ve been able to toy around with and test out lot of decks. I’ve created my great Dark World Infirnity deck, I recently created a Elemental Hero Yubel deck and a great Alien deck.; with these decks, I have beaten down some tough duelists.  However, one of the decks I had been trying to make for a long time (and finally got the chance to thanks to Yugioh Network) was Spell Counter Explosion. This deck basically utilizes cards that distribute spell counters and cards that are powered by those spell counters. The deck revolves around the field spell Magical Citadel of Endymion. I didn’t really expect the deck to be great, but it has proven to be astonishingly strong and so far, I have a record of 3-2 with Spell Counter Explosion. Stall Deck – A Strong Yugioh Deck

Using a Yugioh stall deck is an easy, risk-free, way of defeating your opponent. Dark Simorgh lockdown is one of the most powerful stall decks in Yugioh.

A Stall Deck is designed to slow your opponent down and make it difficult to either inflict damage or even to attack. Stalling is not a way to win by itself; it is usually used as a means to an ends. Although it is most commonly used in the Exodia Deck, it is also used in the Destiny Board Deck and the Burn Deck. In rare cases it may succeed in running opponents out of cards to draw from their deck, or to win with cards such as “Final Countdown” and “Wave-Motion Cannon”. Best Yugioh Deck – Elemental Hero and Yubel

Elemental Heroes and Yubel used together is a strong Yugioh deck! If used right, this deck would be the best Yugioh deck!

I was watching Yugioh GX (I wanted to relieve the old days) and I saw the duel between Jaden with his Elemental Hero deck and Yubel. After watching the duel, it dawned on me: why don’t I create a deck that utilizes Elemental Heros AND Yubel? Elemental Heroes are some of the strongest monsters in Yugioh; at one point, an Elemental Hero deck was regarded as the best Yugioh deck. Yubel on the other hand, is a ridiculously powerful monster; it may have 0 attack points, but Yubel cannot be destroyed by battle and you take no damage when Yubel battles. Most importantly, when Yubel is attacked, it inflicts life point damage to your opponent equal to the attack points of the attacking monster. This deck was not the most conventional, but it was very powerful. Continue reading “Best Yugioh Deck – Elemental Hero and Yubel”

Yugioh Synchro Monsters – Special Edition Tin Deck

If you like using Yugioh synchro monsters, then this tin deck is for you as it contains a variety of synchro Yugioh monster cards!

For a while now, I have been looking to start a synchro deck. Synchros are one of the, if not the most popular type monsters out in the Yugioh world, so why not create a proto-deck with them? Plus, I was sick and tired of dueling my friends with my regular deck (and winning of course), so I also wanted to make a Yugioh synchro deck for the creative aspect. So while I was in Walmart today, I bought a Yugioh Special Edition Tin. The tin came with three Duelist Pack Yusei 2, one Ancient Prophecy, and three holofoil cards. Though I didn’t find any synchro monsters, I still got really nice cards. Continue reading “Yugioh Synchro Monsters – Special Edition Tin Deck”

Yugioh Dark World Structure Deck

Dark World monsters are one of the strongest monsters in Yugioh and with the release of this Dark World structure deck, Dark Worlds just got even stronger!

Yugioh Grapha Dragon Lord of the Dark WorldI feel structure decks are really underrated; most people buy them to get cards for their own decks, but I think people don’t realize that a few structure decks can be powerful by themselves. One of those structure decks is known as the Dark Emperor deck, which utilizes D.D. monsters and revolves around getting advantages by removing cards from play. The ace monster of the deck is called Caius the Shadow Monarch, hence the name Dark Emperor. Despite being a structure deck, the Dark Emperor can be very tough to beat, especially if you run swarming decks. However, in one month another powerful structure deck is going to be released: Dark World.

In Dueling Network, one of the biggest online dueling sites on the web, Dark World decks (usually played with some Fabled monsters) are already overplayed. The deck’s ace monster, Grapha Dragon Lord of Dark World, has already been released on Dueling Network and hence Dark World decks have surged in popularity and power. Once this structure deck is released in real life, I would not be surprised to see Dark Worlds used frequently in tournaments.

You see, Grapha is one heck of a monster: not only does it have a massive 2700 attack points, but it as a sweet effect too. If Grapha is discarded by your own card’s effect, you can destroy a card your foe controls; if Grapha is discarded by your foe’s card effect, you can select one card from your opponent’s hand and discard, but if that card happens to be a monster, you can special the monster to your side of the field. With the addition of Grapha, Dark World decks will be formidable in tournaments. Plus, if you have some Fabled cards (Fabled Raven is ideal) you can add in, your Dark World deck becomes even stronger.

As good as this structure deck is, I believe the title of ‘strongest’ still belongs with the Dark Emperor deck as it can beat a Dark World pretty bad (with cards like Dimension Fissure, Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, etc…) Still, I would recommend this deck to anyone because they can beat most decks; even if you don’t want a Dark World deck, this structure deck has nice spell and trap cards such as Deck Devastation Virus, Escape from the Dark Dimension, and Dark World Dealings. As a fan of Dark World decks, I cannot wait for this structure deck to be released (FYI: October 18).

Strong yet Cheap Yugioh Cards

You probably don’t like to spend a lot of money on Yugioh cards, but there are certain strong Yugioh cards that are also fairly cheap.

We all like high quality items, especially high quality items that are cheap as well. The same goes for Yugioh cards, if you can get strong Yugioh cards that are cheap, that’s a deal that you can’t turn down. But, the problem is that it is rare to find strong Yugioh cards that come at a low cost. However, notice how I wrote ‘rare’; it is not impossible to find strong Yugioh cards that are strong and cheap! In fact, I found some awesome cards on amazon.com that won’t flush your wallet!

1. Junk Beserker – Ghost Rare – $9.69

How often do you find secret rare Yugioh card available for $10? I am guessing not so often. Junk Beserker is a solid monster with 2700 attack points and has two great effects: It can destroy any defense position monster it attacks (without applying damage calculation) and, by removing one Junk monster from your grave, one of your opponent’s monsters loses attack equal the attack of the removed monster. It is a not a monster I would buy for more than $20, but for less than $10? It would be worth it, especially considering that the card is ghost rare.

2. Dark Armed Dragon – Super Rare – $6.18

I think this is self-explanatory, most people neglect Dark Armed Dragon with a perception that it is too pricey, but in actuality, you can get one for $6.18., even thought it’s secret rare. Unless you want to buy a secret rare Dark Armed Dragon for $43 though, then you can live with it a lower rarity.

3. Majestic Red Dragon – Secret Rare – $2.44

Majestic Dragon is one of the best synchro monsters in the game in terms of stats (4000 attack, 3000 defense) and effect. It cannot be destroyed by card effects, it destroys all defense position monsters after damage calculation, and finally it can negate the effect of a monster and absorb half of that monster’s effect. However, it is VERY hard to play. Still, being able to buy it for $2.44 is ridiculously cheap, as it is still an extremely destructive monster.

Most Yugioh cards, whether they are weak or very powerful, come at pretty cheap prices if they are relatively old. For instance, when Honest first came out, its ghost rare version was worth $80. Now, almost three years later, the price has (naturally) dropped to a cheap $16. Here’s another pointer: many people want to buy secret rare/ghost rare versions of cards, but don’t be that customer! It doesn’t matter how low of a rarity a card it; as long as you have the card in possession, it shouldn’t matter what rarity is. Remember, lower rarity = cheaper!

Lightsworn Deck

X-Sabers, Six Samurai, etc… are just a couple of very powerful Yugioh meta decks, but a very ovverated Yugioh meta deck is the Lightsworn deck and I will explain my opinion.

X-Sabers, Six Samurai, etc… are just a couple of very powerful Meta decks. The term ‘Meta’ refers to a group of decks that dominate play in a certain areas. Other Meta decks you have probably heard of are Blackwings, Gladiator Beasts, and Lightsworns. Now, I have dueled against several Lightsworn decks and usually defeat them. For those who don’t know, the primary goal of a Lightsworn is to mill several cards from your deck in order to summon Judgement Dragon, which requires four Lightsworn monsters in the graveyard to be summoned. However, though Judgement Dragon is strong, should it truly make Lightsworn decks rank highly among duelists?

Before you pro-Lightsworn readers start hounding me, here is my argument: Lightsworn decks revolve around summoning a monster who can be destroyed by a card effect at anytime. Sure you may have Dark Bribe or Solemn Warning/Judgement set, but a simple Dark Hole or a Lightning Vortex can eradicate it. Now, I know that logic applies to many monsters, like Dark Armed Dragon and Herald of Perfection, two monsters that are equally as powerful as Judgement Dragon. However, in DAD’s case, it doesn’t have a deck that revolves around specifically summoning itself (Tele-DAD was more about quick synchro summoning, with DAD as a key tool to do so). In Herald’s case, all good Perfection decks either have Royal Decree to negate Trap Holes and/or have several Herald-of-Light monsters that can negate Trap Holes/Solemns as well.

Another bad thing about Lightsworns is that they mill so much in order to bring out Judgement Dragon. If you summon Judgement Dragon and it gets negated, you just lost half your deck trying to futilely play it. I think Lightsworn decks are good, but I just don’t think they deserve the high-level status they have. What are your guys’ views?

Six Samurai Deck

Ok, when I used to think of a top tier deck, the first decks that came to mind were X-Sabers, Infernities, Gladiator Beasts, and Blackwings. However, the more I have started dueling on Dueling Network, I have observed that the Six Samurai deck is a very destructive one well! Along with an Exodia deck, Six Samurai decks have been the hardest deck for me to stop. And it is not just me that feels that way; when people host duels, many of them literally say “No Samurai deck!'”. That’s how powerful they (apparently) are. Today, just like I did in my top 5 archetypes post from last year, where Six Samurais were excluded, I will talk about the strengths and weaknesses of a Six Samurai deck.

Strengths

Six Samurai decks focus on stacking up Six Samurai monsters and swarming them. With cards like Legendary Six Samurai – Kizan and Shien’s Smoke Signal, they are very good at it. I run an X-Saber deck and even they are not as fast as Six Samurais! Plus, Six Samurais have a lot of support cards that make the swarming process even faster (of which include the previously mentioned Shien’s Smoke Signal, Shien’s Dojo, and Double Edged Sword). The new additions of synchro monsters like Legendary Six Samurai Shi En and Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier (which has become a staple in Six Samurai decks) make the deck even stronger.

Weaknesses

The main weakness of Six Samurais. the same for Infernities, Blackwings, and X-Sabers, is this: once you take away their swarming ability, they are useless. How do you do this? Cards such as Royal Opression, Special Hurricane, and even a Herald of Perfection deck, will do the trick (Herald can negate and destroy Six Samurai support cards). Besides that, Six Samurais do not have a notable weakness(es).
