It’s been 4 years since I last voiced my opinion on what monster was the strongest in Yugioh. Well, now I think that title goes to Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth.
Courtesy of YugiohBlog regular, Victor, I was recently introduced to a new Yugioh card: Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth. I had written a post a few years declaring Yubel, the Ultimate Nightmare as the strongest monster in Yugioh. After reading about Sophia, I am convinced that she is the strongest. It has nothing to do with the fact that Sophia has 3600 attack and 3400, nor does it have anything to do with the fact that she looks like the harbinger of destruction. By her effect alone, Sophia is the strongest monster in Yugioh. Continue reading “Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth – The Strongest Yugioh Monster?”
Part two of the strongest Numbers in Yugioh. Number 6: Chronomaly Atlandis takes home the prize for its ridiculous stats and killer effect.
Here is part two of the top 10 strongest Number monsters in Yugioh.
5. Number 40: Gimmick Puppet Strings – GPS can be a tough monster to summon, since two level eight monsters are required in order for it to undergo an exceed summon. However, when on the field, this monster can literally destroy your opponent. GPS has a whopping 3000 attack and 2000 defense, along with a cataclysmic effect. Once per turn, by discarding one of its material monsters, GPS attaches String Counters to every monster on the field excluding itself. Then, during your opponent’s following end phase, all monsters with String Counters are destroyed, inflicting 500 attack points for each monster destroyed. Barring spell/trap interference, this effect deals at least 3000 damage to your opponent, since it opens up for a direct attack by GPS. Considering it can use its effect twice, GPS has the ability to deal 6000 damage with its effect. That is ridiculous. Continue reading “Strongest Numbers in Yugioh Part 2”
Xyz monsters have become very popular, especially the number monsters. What are the top 10 Number monsters in Yugioh?
Xyz monsters have developed into some of the greatest powerhouses in all of Yugioh. Ever since the release of the first Xyz monster, Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, Xyz monsters have become staples in most decks. The trademark Xyz monsters are the number monsters. There have been several Number monsters introduced up to this point and Yugioh Zexall II is bound to showcase even more. Out of the numerous Number monsters released, which are the strongest?
10. Number 11: Big Eye – While Big Eye may be tough to summon, as it requires two, level seven monsters to summon, its effect and stats make it a solid monster. Big Eye is a tough monster to bring down with its 2600 attack and 2000 defense points. On top of that, it has an awesome effect! Once per turn, by detaching one of its Xyz material monsters, Big Eye can take control of a monster on your opponent’s side of the field. While Big Eye cannot declare an attack the turn this effect is used, it is a great way to turn the tide on your opponent. Continue reading “Strongest Numbers in Yugioh Part 1”
A couple of years ago, the strongest monsters in Yugioh were X-Sabers. However, Six Samurais have taken over that distinction.
Two years ago, I posted an article about how the X-Sabers were the strongest archetype. Fast forward two years and they are still a top tier archetype. Number one? That award goes probably goes to Six Samurai. Continue reading “The Strongest Archetype in Yugioh as of 2012”
Yugioh Agent monsters are some of the strongest monsters in the game. New released in the Order of Chaos booster pack have increased their power.
Dark Worlds have become a tier one archetype thanks to the addition of the Grapha, Dragon of the Dark World as well as other support cards. However, as you may have heard the saying, “when there is darkness, there is light.” Introducing, the Yugioh Agent deck, another deck that has climbed to tier one. An agent deck utilizes a lot of fairy monsters, aided with the effect of The Sanctuary in the Sky. Similar to how Dark World decks revolve around Grapha, Agent decks revolve around a monster known as Master Hyperion, who is possibly the strongest fairy monster in Yugioh. Ninja monsters are really powerful. However, they are extremely overlooked, as they are not part of the meta-game.
Yugioh ninja monsters have been out for quite a while. In fact, one of the first ninja monsters, Strike Ninja, was considered so lethal that it had to be banned. One of the first Yugioh cards ever made was a ninja, Armed Ninja (he was a nuisance to duel against ‘back in the day’). A few other ninja monsters came out, but ninjas were not very popular until the release of Order of Chaos. The booster pack has released many new types of ninja monsters and has cemented ninjas as one of the more popular archetypes in Yugioh. Continue reading “Yugioh Ninja Monsters – Overlooked Archetype”
Wind-Up monsters were used a lot in high level tournaments this year. However, are they a tier one archetype?
Recently, I was looking at the finalists for the 2012 World Championships and a majority of those duelists used a particular archetype: Wind-Up. I had heard of Wind-Up monsters, notably the powerful Wind-Up Zenmaines, but had never seen them in action. After researching the archetype, I have come to realize that Wind-Up monsters are one-of-a-kind. They are not focused on a specific strategy; Wind-Up monsters utilize all-around tactics, from swarming to stat manipulation. They seem like an incredibly powerful archetype, but the question is, can they be called Tier 1? Continue reading “Wind-Up Monsters – Tier 1 Archetype?”
Number 32: Shark Drake has earned a reputation as one of the strongest Xyz monsters in Yugioh. However, its Chaos form, Shark Drake Vice, is at an even greater level and arguably the strongest monster released in Yugioh Zexal.
Number 32: Shark Drake is one of the strongest Xyz monsters in Yugioh and has been an integral part of Shark’s deck in Yugioh Zexal. Its strength and rising popularity are probably why Konami is releasing the chaos form of Shark Drake; a monster known as Number C32: Shark Drake Vice. We know Chaos monsters become a lot stronger, and Shark Drake Vice’s abilities showcase this increase in strength. Continue reading “Number C32: Shark Drake Vice”
Lightpulse Dragon is an incredibly powerful Yugioh Dragon monster because it is able to create efficient first turn kills.
Early February, Konami released another dragon-oriented structure deck known as Dragons Collide. It is a decent structure, though it is nothing compared to the Dragunity structure deck. However, Dragons Collide does have some powerful dragons such as Dark Armed Dragon, Darkflare Dragon, and Red Eyes Darkness Dragon. However, there is another monster that may not be as well-known as the previous three but is still really good: Lightpulsar Dragon.
Lightpulsar Dragon is a powerful dragon with a solid 2500 attack points. Plus it looks really, really cool! It looks like a mix between Stardust Dragon and Thunder End Dragon, if you look closely. Anyways, the reason I like Lightpulsar Dragon so much is because of its outrageous effect. First of all, you can special summon Lightpulsar Dragon from your hand by banishing a dark and light monster. It can be special summoned from the graveyard by discarding a dark and light monster as well. However, while these effects make playing Lightpulsar Dragon easy, it’s the third effect that makes Lightpulsar Dragon extremely powerful. At first glance, Thunder End Dragon looks like a very powerful monster, but in reality, its abilities belie its looks.
I was really excited when Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon was introduced in Yugioh Zexal. The monster had a cool appearance and was very powerful. Alas, I must have overvalued my own excitement because I finally bought some Photon Shockwave boosters pack yesterday (along with some Order of Chaos packs, but that will be talked about in another post). In my first pack I had picked up an ultra rare monster, Thunder End Dragon! It was the best Yugioh card I had gotten from the packs and I was ecstatic!
